I recently stayed at a private room in Cambridge and had a warm and comfortable experience. The room was a decent size for one person and I appreciated the good communication from the staff. The hot shower was a welcome treat after a long day exploring the city.
There was one drawback, however, as the mattress and pillows were in need of an upgrade. They were quite uncomfortable and impacted my ability to get a good night's sleep.

Warm and cozy. Enjoyed a hot shower. Room size was decent for one person. the communication with the staff was good.
Bed was uncomfortable, mattress seemed old, and pillows were hard. Someone entered my room with a key, leaving the door open, which made me feel unsafe as a solo female traveler.

The 1-bedroom apartment was cozy and charming, making me feel right at home. The living room had a big flat-screen TV, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The fully equipped kitchenette was a nice bonus for someone like me who enjoys cooking.
